Studio 4 Vinyl’s Phil Nicolo Joins Howard University to Help Develop New Divinity & Music Program

We’re incredibly proud to share some exciting news from within the Studio 4 Vinyl family!

Our own Phil Nicolo will be working alongside Kenyatta R. Gilbert and Peter M. Wherry at Howard University to help develop a new Divinity and Music Program, with additional collaboration from John Francis O’Mara.

Founded in 1870, Howard University’s Divinity School has a long-standing legacy of leadership, scholarship, and community impact. This new initiative builds on that foundation, creating a space where music, faith, and storytelling intersect in meaningful and modern ways.

Plans for the program already include the development of a world-class recording studio, multimedia production facilities, and podcasting capabilities. It’s a vision that reflects the evolution of music beyond just an artform into a vehicle for connection, expression, and cultural dialogue.

For us, this hits close to home.

At Studio 4 Vinyl, we live in that same intersection every day, where sound becomes something tangible, something lasting. We are incredibly excited to see Phil bring that passion into an academic and spiritual space like Howard.

We’re honored to see Phil take part in shaping the future of music and musicians alike, and we can’t wait to see what comes out of it.
